Breathing Difficulties
Breathing difficulties can be caused by problems with the lungs, such as a blood clot or pneumonia, or problems with the airway caused by allergies or trauma. Heart problems such as angina or congestive heart failure, head trauma or allergies can also contribute to shortness of breath. Difficulties in breathing, whether at rest or after exertion can be life threatening or at the least, can adversely impact quality of life.
The use of diagnostic imaging equipment such as MRI or a CT scan is commonly used to determine the cause of breathing difficulties that cannot be diagnosed by a simple physical examination or blood tests. These imaging tools provide a clear picture of the lungs, heart, head or airway to radiologists and physicians who can then use the information to prescribe a course of treatment.
We are proud to offer physicians and their patients our state of the art facility for use in the diagnostic process. In our facility there is no waiting for results other than the time required to process the results of the tests.
